Construction Staking and Surveying
RW Engineering & Surveying provided construction staking and surveying support for the project. We joined teams with the primary contractor, Hawkins Construction, to complete the project. We also worked to coordinate construction between several sub-contractors on the project, including Constructors, Inc., Ames Construction, Cramer & Associates, United Contractors, and LinHart Construction. The scope of the project entailed building 9 new miles of east and west bound divide Highway 2, 2.5 miles of reconstructed northbound and southbound Highway 77. In addition to the roadways, the project also included staking of 21 bridges, 41 box culverts, over 33,000 linear feet of storm pipe, 20 MSE walls, 11 round-a-bouts, and five on and off ramp interchanges and side roads. RW also assisted Ames Construction with their grading operations that consisted of moving approximately 9 million cubic yards of dirt.
